I have purchased the plans for this coop and have started building it. I noticed the rafter layout is inset on both end walls. Could you tell me what the layout is 24" o.c ? And how far in did you inset the rafters on each sidewall

I used to grow mine flat on the ground until I discovered 16ft. cattle panels. I put them against the base of the plants at an angle facing the sun. I do this when I first plant the seeds. The panels are supported by T-posts. The vines grow up the panels and the cucumbers hang through on the backside. Easier picking. Try it once with a few and see them before they yellow. From what I’ve heard, once one goes yellow the vine will age out.

I'm thinking about doing this. Question for you about the 4x4s. Is that ground pressure treated and if so, how long does it take for those boards to dry before building this. Basically I need advice on what wood would work best and that I could buy. As close to appearance grade as possible. I like to work with wood. I have a jointer and planer, so I can mill it down. I have no idea how to select wood.

I like that you are preserving food in jars like my mother used to do decades ago when we were on a farm. I don't know how you earn a living but you sure know how to live off the land.

Oh my I learned fast not to plant more then 2 plants or I'll be over run. They say if a cucumbers turn rip on vine it signals to plant its done and to die back. I've had this happen.
